A note from Professor Joe Souza S.G.M.
I met Professor Dominic Cirincione some 10 or 12 years ago at Camp Dan Zan Ryu and immediately we became friends. Over the years we shared our martial arts ideas and I was invited attended many of his summer camps, which were held in Idaho as a guest instructor. We both seek to acquire more knowledge and are always meeting martial artists that are willing to share their knowledge. Like myself, Professor Cirincione is skilled in a number of martial arts. He is my successor to the Kensujitsu system, which implements a mix of several martial arts with Lock Flow being the signature element, which he transitions into all of his martial arts teachings. As we continued to share our ideas both on and off the mat the conversation always led to forming an organization that truly meets the needs of most martial artists without the political hurdles. Professor Cirincione came to me two years ago and said that he was considering forming such an organization and asked me if I would be interested in becoming his partner? As we gathered our thoughts and ideas we both realized that we had the same goals and vision for such an organization. The main purpose of our organization was no politics period. We wanted to offer martial artists the opportunity to share their art with others and offer continued education for both the instructor and the student in whatever system they desired. We also felt the need for the martial artist whether instructor or student to have an organization that could award rank and recognition in either their respective system or in martial arts in general. With that in mind we considered several names that would say what we wanted to represent. The P.M.A.A. or Professional Martial Arts Alliance says just that. Our motto is “Like Minded Professionals Teaching With Integrity.” We have gathered an executive staff that consists of high ranking, well known and respected Martial Artists from several major martial arts systems and are moving forward with our dream.
